Dirghajeevi Voluntary Group (DVG) is a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) formed by a group of youths which is actively working for the welfare and benefit of the Children suffering from and undergoing treatment for Cancer at Kanti Children's Hospital, Maharajgunj, Kathmandu.

We the current DVG committee member were at first involved as a volunteer only when DVG was not introduced as Dirghajeevi but was known as ‘Chiranjeevi’. Later, we decided to organize it as an NGO and so on is the current DVG. All we decided is for the welfare of the underprivileged children who are suffering from the fatalistic diseases like Cancer , Heart diseases and kidney problems.

There is lack of awareness about such fatalistic diseases, they can be treated well rather than the present condition.

If we can apply some methods, for an instance we are serving childrens in psychological way through playing with them or giving them playing things, joking with them, telling them stories, drawing for them or making them to draw and other many activities which makes them emotionally prepare for fighting against the diseases which they are suffering from.

As, per the latest research medical science has also proven, that the psychological treatment can work rather than the any other related medicines or other methods.

Before registration the voluntary service had being going on for the last seven years under the name of Chiranjeevi Voluntary Club established by Ms. Melody Gage in 1998 with the intention of providing the necessary supports to the children under the Oncology Ward, suffering from cancer at Kanti Children's Hospital. This volunteering service was given continuation by Mr. Padam Lal Maharjan.
